I-35E Construction Information

Over the next few months some of Denton’s major roadways will be under construction. If you travel daily on Interstate 35East, you will be especially affected. Below are a few areas of concern…

Denton to Dallas I-35E Re-construction Expansion

Beginning June 2014 the northbound I-35E main lanes will be shifted to the west onto temporary pavement to accommodate the long-term closure of the US 77 bridge over the entrance ramp to southbound I-35E at Dallas Dr. This shift will remain in place for approximately 12 month, with completion sometime in summer 2015.

• Motorists traveling north on I-35E will have access to Dallas Drive from Teasley Lane.

As part of the improvements under way along the I-35E corridor between Denton and Dallas, traffic on northbound I-35E approaching Bonnie Brae St. will shift toward the center median beginning June 19, 2014. All lanes will remain open and traffic disruption should be minimal. This temporary traffic shift is expected to last through the fall 2014. Southbound I-35E traffic will not be affected by this shift.

Closure of Dallas Drive (US 77) Entrance Ramp to Southbound I-35E

Beginning June 2014 the Dallas Dr. entrance ramp to southbound I-35E will closed until summer 2015. During the closure, Crews will rehabilitate the ramp as part of the improvements under way along the I-35E corridor between Denton and Dallas.

Detours are as follows:

• Southbound traffic will turn right on Teasley Lane, left onto the southbound I-35E frontage road and then enter the southbound I-35E entrance ramp.

• Traffic traveling south on Dallas Drive will turn right on the northbound I-35E frontage road, travel north to Teasley Ln., turn left on Teasley Ln., turn left to the southbound I-35E frontage road, and then back to southbound I-35E.
